The OICMS Directives Management Team serves as the corporate focal point for directives management issues by providing consultation and technical advise to NASA employees regarding the application of directives concepts, practices, and techniques. The team manages the directives process by 1) verifying directive and regulatory compliances; 2) tracking official reviews of new and revised directives from initiation through publication, and 3) maintaining the NODIS database to ensure that Agency-level directives, Center-level directives, and external requirements are accessible by NASA employees, contractors, and the public.
The Team also serve as the Agency's liaison to the Office of the Federal Register (FR) to publish NASA documents in the FR, and to the Office of Management Budget to submit NASA's input to the Regulatory Plan and Unified Agenda for Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions.
The team works closely with all organizational components at the Agency to ensure that policies and requirements remain in place for ongoing operations; and that designated directives managers and directive originators receive appropriate training to assist with managing directives activities within their respective organization.
