PREFACE


P.1 PURPOSE

This NPR provides NASA Headquarters and NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, with requirements for developing emergency preparedness procedures and for effectively working with regional organizations of the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for response to national emergencies.

P.2 APPLICABILITY

This NPR is applicable to NASA Headquarters and NASA Centers, including Component Facilities, and to JPL and other NASA contractors to the extent specified in their contracts. Address comments regarding this NPR to the Office of Security and Program Protection, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC, 20546. Refer questions concerning the application of these guidelines to specific NASA Centers to the appropriate NASA Center Emergency Preparedness organization.
