8.1.1 NASA Headquarters, in conjunction with OMB, will maintain a set of validated, well-defined metrics to evaluate the performance of Technology Transfer across the Agency. Typical metrics included in the monthly metrics report generated by NTTS may include, but are not limited to:
a. Number of New Technology Reports
b. Number of Applications Patents Filed
c. Number of Patents Issued
d. Number of Space Act Agreements
e. Number of Patent Licenses
f. Percentage of Portfolio Licensed
g. Number of Copyright Licenses
h. Number of Software Usage Agreements
i. Number of Success Stories
8.1.2 NTTS will be the exclusive source for generation of metrics necessary for any reporting requested by OMB, the Government Accountability Office ( GAO) or Congress or other parts of the U.S. Government.
8.2.1 NASA Headquarters will provide Center Technology Transfer Officers with a monthly report of the metrics derived from NTTS data. Center Technology Transfer Officers will respond within two weeks of receiving these metrics reports with any corrections that are needed.
8.2.2 Center Technology Transfer Officers will respond within 2 weeks to all other Headquarters requests for information on technology transfer activities within the Center.
