Chapter 3. Relocation Allowances by Specific Type

3.1 Relocation Separation

3.1.1 In accordance with 41 CFR § 302.3-315, NASA Agency AO may authorize an employee or his or her family member (in case of the employee's death) an extension on the time limit to begin the employee's separation travel, not to exceed two years from the employee's effective date of separation or death if the employee died before separation.

NASA Agency AO may authorize an employee to arrange separation relocation, but the reimbursement of the approved entitlement may not exceed the cost of what NASA would have paid if accomplished/procured by NASA. The employee shall first work through the NASA Relocation Office and receive an approved Relocation TA prior to securing any services independently.
