Chapter 7. Miscellaneous Allowances

7.1 Allowance for Miscellaneous Expenses

7.1.1 Miscellaneous Expenses common to living quarters, home furnishings, household appliances, and to other general types of costs inherent in relocation of a place of residence may be claimed under 41 CFR § 302-16.

7.1.2 The family portion of the miscellaneous expense's payment will not be processed until the family has performed en route travel to new the duty station.

7.2 Taxes on Relocation Expenses

NASA will reimburse eligible transferred employees for all of the additional Federal, state, and local income taxes incurred by the employee, or by the employee and spouse if a joint tax return is filed, as a result of certain travel and transportation expense associated with relocation allowances, which are furnished in kind, or for which reimbursement or an allowance is provided by the Government in accordance with 41 CFR § 302-17.
